Meet the Grower-
Started at Tweed: November 17, 2014
Job Title: Extraction Technologist
As Tweed’s lab has expanded, so too has Jordan Gabriel’s role evolved. A lab technician by trade, Jordan set up the foundation for the company’s quality testing and analytics laboratory from a mere stack of boxes. When we introduced our 10:1 Cannabis Oils into the production realm, Jordan stepped up to fill the role of our first extractions technologist. Responsible for potency testing, calibration and equipment operation and maintenance, Jordan makes sure the oil extraction process – all the way from dried cannabis to ingestible oil – runs smooth as silk.
A graduate of the University of Toronto, Jordan studied at Loyalist College after university to gain practical, hands-on experience. There, he spent 30-40 hours a week working in the lab, where he learned to use a supercritical extractor similar to the one we employ to produce our in-house 10:1 Cannabis Oils.
A dedicated scientist who can lend a perspective on any topic you bring to his doorstep, only the call of food or water can typically draw Jordan away from his work. In the future, he hopes to be able to continue experimenting in the extracts space, creating innovative products like pills, topicals and tinctures, that will service the medical cannabis market.
The Proust Questionnaire
This next section of our Meet the Grower Feature is based on the Proust Questionnaire – It’s an interview style commonly used by James Lipton on Inside the Actors Studio as well as Vanity Fair. The Proust Questionnaire is designed to strip away the fat and reveal one’s true character.

What would you be doing if you weren’t doing this? I was attempting to get into the pharma industry before I began to explore the MMPR, so either one of those.
